The Great Sphinx of Giza is a historical landmark, and one of Egypt’s most famous landmarks. The landmark was built around 2520–2494 BC. Over 14 million people visit The Great Sphinx every year. Pharaoh Khufu and his son Khafre, were buried there respectively. An Islamic cleric knocked off the nose of the Sphinx in the thirteenth century. The Ancient Egyptians believed that The Great Sphinx was a representation of a sun god. Some Ancient Roman Emperors have visited the Sphinx, out of curiosity and for political reasons. I think The Great Sphinx is a intriguing place and is a place where I’d like to visit in my lifetime.
